Abstract
We show how the theory of lattice gases developed by Frisch, d'Humières, Hasslacher, Lallemand, Pomeau, and Rivet, can be extended to cases involving violation of semi-detailed balance. This allows further reduction of the viscosity. However, since the universality of the distribution is lost, the function becomes dependent on the collision laws and has to be evaluated by a suitable generalization of the work of Hénon on viscosities. Cases with and without rest particles are considered. The lattice Boltzmann approximation is used.
