Abstract
The local structure theory (Gutowitz et al. [5]) is an analytical method for the determination of the statistical properties of cellular automaton evolution. In this paper we develop the local structure theory for multi-dimensional Euclidean lattices. The local structure theory for the Game of Life [1] is studied in detail. Some statistical properties of this cellular automaton are well approximated by a low order theory.
